FAQ
Do I need a background in physics or philosophy?
No. The path is written for beginners. Optional deeper sources assume more background.
Is this “just emergence”?
No. Emergence is often a result. Juarrero’s focus is how constraints create and maintain coherence — a causal story, not a label.
Is a wiki the best way to learn this?
A pure wiki is great for lookup, weak for first-time absorption. This system uses a path first, wiki second. See the root README.
Should I start with Dynamics in Action or Context Changes Everything?
For this system: neither. Start with M01–M03. After the path:
- Care about action/intention → DiA
- Care about general constraints/coherence → CCE (open access from MIT Press)

Are “constraintome” and “tensegrity” in the books?
Constraint regime is book language. Constraintome is a talk gloss for the full ecology of constraints. Tensegrity / gain / infodynamics are talk-forward elaborations (especially Complexity Lounge #44). Marked as [talk] where relevant.
Is she anti-materialist or dualist?
She rejects crude “nothing but micro-pushes” reductionism without cheap dualism. The issue is an incomplete causal ontology, not “matter is fake.”
How long should the first pass take?
About 8–12 hours of focused work if you stay on the path and don’t rabbit-hole sources.
What if I only have one hour?
Do: welcome.md → overview.md → M01 → claim C001.
